Also the claim that there is a similar novel with the same name, written by Marathi author Sumati Kshetramade, leaves a not-so-pleasant taste in the mouth. Her books have been translated into all the major Indian languages and have sold over three lakh copies around the country. Murthy says she came to know about the Marathi novel only after finishing writing her Kannada novel. How she overcome the all the obstacles and live the life is the rest of story.
